Preston was mentioned in the first book, where he is declared "Athlete of the Month". The poster bills him as "P. Mudd". He is Greg's second best friend. He is the captain on Westmore Middle School's baseball, basketball, and football teams. He has broken every middle school record in these sports and has the best overall averages in sports. He is a Tridentine Catholic and attends and serves at the Traditional, Latin Mass. He has won the championship with Westmore every year since his first year of Pre-School. His father is Hall-Of-Famer, Brandon Mudd. Preston and Brandon have led Westmore to an undefeated history in the sports of baseball, basketball, and football. He is 7'3".
